Manchester Ship Canal

The Machester Ship Canal was constructed in the late 1800s, transforming the landlocked city of Manchester into a major inland port. Designed by Sir Edward Leader Williams, the canal is an impressive feat of Victorian engineering and it includes several swing bridges and aqueducts.
