John Rylands Research Institute and Library

The John Rylands Research Institute and Library houses one of the world’s finest collections of rare books, manuscripts and archives. Opened to the public in 1900, the library is a magnificent late Victorian neo-Gothic building which became part of the university in 1972 and is the third largest academic library in the UK.
