Andy Bradley, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year, recently completed the GM Ringway in support of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester.

The 59 year-old from Knutsford completed the 200-mile trail – which he undertook in individual stages – on July 11^th, raising over £16,000 for the Trust’s charitable arm, The Christie Charity, in the process.

Andy, who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer last January, was welcomed by friends and supporters in St Peter’s Square at the end of his walk. Also present was Andy’s oncologist, Dr Gerben Borst, who is a specialist in brain cancer. Under Dr Borst’s care, Andy been taking part in a pioneering clinical trial called PORTRAIT at The Christie, which is testing a new way to treat brain tumours.

And ITV Granada – who reported on Andy’s fundraising efforts when he started the challenge in May – were there to capture the moment Andy made it to the finish line, and interviewed both Andy and Dr Borst about the walk.

Representatives of the GM Ringway association were also invited to witness Andy’s completion of his challenge, and we are proud that the GM Ringway was able to play a part in his incredible achievement.
