Founder of the GM Ringway, Dr Andrew Read, has had a series of walks recently published on Manchester’s official tourism website, Visit Manchester.

Dr Read, who also is the author of the Ordnance Survey’s Outstanding Circular Walks in Greater Manchester book – which features 28 circular routes covering a total of 190 miles across all parts of GM – has devised each of the walks to be accessible by public transport (as are all the stages of the GM Ringway).

Andrew’s six handpicked walks for Visit Manchester take in a range of landscapes across the region, and include routes in and around Hollingworth Lake, Dovestone Reservoir, Jumbles Country Park, Irwell Valley, Peak Forest Canal, and the Tame Valley. Each guide also includes route information, details of nearby attractions, and suggested places to eat and drink.
