Circle Home
Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity has teamed up with Super League rugby team Salford Red Devils and GM Ringway – Greater Manchester’s walking trail for the launch of a brand new campaign to tackle homelessness in the region. Circle Home will be Greater Manchester’s biggest ever sponsored walk, with every mile covered raising pounds towards changing people’s lives.
The event, ‘Circle Home‘, will include a weekend of walking to raise much-needed funds to help support people experiencing homelessness in Greater Manchester. The Circle Home weekend of sponsored walks will take place from Friday 8 – Monday 11 September, where individuals and groups are invited to take part by signing up to do a sponsored walk along one or more of the 20 stages of GM Ringway – Greater Manchester’s walking trail and pledge a minimum of £1 per mile.
The walking trail is built around existing footpaths, parks, and open-access land to allow as many people as possible to take part. The route, which explores all 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester, is 186 miles (300km) long and takes in a wide variety of landscapes as well as heritage attractions such as stately homes, museums and ancient monuments. What’s more there are plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants along the route.
Independent walks currently available
You’ll find a variety of walks to choose from, including a selection of shorter and step-free walks on parts of the trail. Either visit the route pages on the website or download the Go Jauntly app.

There’s lots of ways people can get involved in the Circle Home weekender, whether you’re a business taking your team or clients out to explore what Greater Manchester has to offer, or looking to spend time with family and friends in the great outdoors. Circle Home is aimed at getting people out enjoying Greater Manchester’s stunning natural spaces, all while raising money for a good cause.
Every step counts
The funds you raise will work hard, and there is no minimum step count. Do as much or as little as you want! Each stage starts and finishes at a public transport stop – in most cases a train station or tram stop – and so it’s easy to tackle two or three over the weekend.
